Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken selecteert Siemens en Bell ID voor kaart management Rijkspas

Siemens IT Solutions and Services (SIS) heeft een overeenkomst gesloten met het Nederlandse Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken betreft de levering van een kaart management systeem voor de Rijkspas. De oplossing, ANDiS4Rijkpas, is gebaseerd op software van Bell ID en voldoet aan de normen vanuit het Rijksprogramma. Het systeem stelt het Ministerie in staat de levenscyclus van de Rijkspas op een veilige en efficiënte manier te managen. Begin oktober 2009 moet het systeem in gebruik genomen worden.

Siemens en Bell ID hebben vanuit hun expertise en ervaring bij de Rijksoverheid met kaartmanagement een kant-en-klare oplossing geconfigureerd voor de Rijkspas bij het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken. ANDiS4Rijkspas kan ook met een minimale implementatietijd bij de overige kerndepartementen geïnstalleerd worden.

De keuze voor ANDiS4Rijkspas is gemaakt op basis van de bewezen kwaliteit en de gemakkelijke integratie met de bestaande infrastructuur. Verder voldoet het aan de eisen om ook in geplande uitbreidingen ondersteuning te bieden. ANDiS4Rijkspas richt zich aanvankelijk op het gebruik van de Rijkspas voor toegangscontrole binnen het departement. In de tweede en derde fase zal ook toegang tussen departementen onderling, evenals toegang tot informatiesystemen worden ondersteund.

ANDiS4Rijkspas is een kaart management systeem dat alles in zich heeft om zowel processen voor uitgifte en inname van passen als de systematiek voor controle en auditing te ondersteunen. De basisfunctie van het systeem ondersteunt het beheer van de totale levenscyclus van de Rijkspassen bij het betreffende Ministerie. Daarnaast is ANDiS4Rijkspas ook in staat applicaties voor logische toegang te ondersteunen. Zo kan het platform uitgebreid worden met een module die het mogelijk maakt de Rijkspas in te zetten voor het veilig aanmelden aan de PC en het beveiligen van het e-mail verkeer.

De Rijkspas maakt een effectievere bedrijfsvoering en een veilige, gebouwoverstijgende, samenwerking binnen de Rijksoverheid mogelijk. Invoering van de Rijkspas levert een bijdrage aan de doelstellingen van het programma Vernieuwing Rijksdienst. Het programma Rijkspas is onderdeel van de ICTU.

Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs selects Siemens and Bell ID for card management system

Siemens IT Solutions and Services (SIS) has signed an agreement with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to supply a card management system for the Rijkspas, the new multifunctional card for Dutch civil servants. The solution, ANDiS4Rijkspas, relies on commercial software by Bell ID and meets the all of the requirements defined by the National Government. The system enables the Ministry to manage the lifecycle of the cards securely and efficiently, and is scheduled to be operational by October 2009.

Based on their previous card management experience and expertise with government projects, Siemens and Bell ID were able to configure a ready-made solution to issue and manage the Rijkspas for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ANDiS4Rijkspas is also designed so that it can be swiftly implemented and deployed at other State departments.

ANDiS4Rijkspas was selected on the basis of proven quality and the seamless integration with the existing infrastructure. The system also meets and anticipates the requirements for future expansion. ANDiS4Rijkspas will initially be used for access control within the department. In the second and third phases, the Rijkspas will facilitate interdepartmental access and secure access to their IT systems.

ANDiS4Rijkspas is an all-in-one card management system that supports both issuing and withdrawal of cards, as well as the monitoring and auditing the various processes involved. The core functionality of the system is to manage the complete life cycle of the Rijkspas at the relevant Ministry. ANDiS4Rijkspas also offers the capability to manage applications for logical access. To enable this functionality, the ANDiS4Rijkspas platform can be enhanced with a module that facilitates secure PC logon and secure e-mail traffic using the Rijkspas.

The introduction of the Rijkspas enables more effective operations and secure cooperation between multiple government departments and buildings. The advent of the Rijkspas adds to the objectives of the “Vernieuwing Rijksdienst” (upgrading of government services) programme. The Rijkspas project forms part of the ICTU (ICT implementation organisation).
